Shocker
Shocker (1989)

IMDB rating: 4.90

Plot: A murderous TV repairman, Horace Pinker (Mitch Pileggi) is killing people in a small town left, right and center. He eventually finds the home of Lt. Parker (Michael Murphy), who is investigating his crimes, and savagely murders Parker’s wife, son and daughter. His other son, Jonathan (Peter Berg) has a strange connection to Pinker through his dreams, and he directs his father to Pinker’s business, where a small group of officers enter. Pinker escapes in a horrific spree, killing four officers and then targeting Jonathan’s girlfriend, Alison. Another dream leads Jonathan and his dad to a residence where they catch Pinker in in the act of kidnapping. Pinker is arrested after a fight with Jonathan and sentenced to die in the electric chair. When executed, Pinker – who supposedly had given his soul to the devil in exchange for the power to come back as an energy source – takes over people’s bodies and continues committing murders, until Jonathan devises a plan to bring Pinker into the real world, and then cut off his power source…

6 college classes doable w/ work?
Here’s my situation. I’m 23 and trying to graduate asap. I just got into my 6th class after being waitlisted for the 1st week. I cut down my work hours to sat/sunday(8 hours each day). I have no easy classes this semester and the most I have ever taken in the past is 5 classes(although I handled it with a girlfriend and 30+ hours of work per week). If I drop a class i’ll have to do an internship during the summer instead since many of the classes are not offered in the summer. Or I can just man up and take the 6 classes so I can graduate in May. I have always been the kind of guy to cram or wait until the last minute.. obviously that is going to have to change.

I’m very happy that I can now graduate in may, but I quickly began to realize how I might be in over my head.

Classes are:
-Management for engineers(for my minor)
-linear programming(Minor)
-investment analysis(Major)
-financial engineering(Major)
-a basic engineering class(Minor)
-decision sciences(create models and solve business problems with mathematics, linear programming, calculus etc…)(Major)

So they are all fairly intensive classes. This is going to be a bit of a shocker for me.. I have pulled about a 3.5 with minimal effort thus far in college and a poor study routine.. I need some serious advice…

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Why I would prefer a class over an internship: I feel I still need some more familiarity and have a lot to learn about finance before simply jumping into an internship where I may or may not learn much.

hmm. that seems pretty intensive. you said you managed to do pretty well with poor study habits. well, if you can correct your study habits and live with the fact that you will have NO downtime, then it is possible. But basically, when you are not working, you are studying. Basically it comes down to if you think you can work rigorously for the semester.

You remind me alot of myself! I just graduated a four-year university last December. However, it only took me 3.5 years, while working 40-45 hours a week; plus i did a double major in Marketing and Management, and ended up with 3.75 GPA. I would honestly say GO FOR IT! But you classes do sound rather hard. May be try dropping one that is the easiest to get in to and has more openings each semester. May be you can drop linear programming, since it’s for your Minor. Also check to see if any of these courses are offered as web-based, and switch to that (they are easier)
I’d definitely go talk to your counselor to get a better advice.

Good luck and don’t over-work yourself.
